Alicia Loomis, Executive Director
As Executive Director of Utica Dance, Alicia develops programs and curriculum for our regional performing arts initiatives. She works with community partners to create opportunities for community participation and education with programs that encompass music, theater, and dance. Alicia tailors unique programs for performers at all levels from those with professional performing aspirations to students from BOCES and Head Start.
Alicia is a graduate of the Eastman School of Music with majors in performance and education, and holds a Master of Music from Ithaca College. Alicia began her dance training at Munson Williams Proctor Arts Institute where she performed in the original cast of many works by Kathy Ryan including Queen, Diva, and Standard Set.
Alicia brings to Utica Dance extensive experience in creating, producing, directing, choreographing, and teaching. Past productions include 42nd Street, Thoroughly Modern Millie, and Anything Goes. Her students have gone on to study at the Eastman School of Music, Ithaca College, and Syracuse University.
In addition to her position as Executive Director, Alicia conducts the Musical Theater courses at Utica Dance and maintains a private vocal studio.
