Lynn Vance Bollana - Ballet Instructor, Ballet Rehearsal Mistress
Lynn works closely with Nancy Long and is instrumental in the instruction of ballet in the Children’s, Pre-professional and Adult Divisions. Lynn also assists in the preparations of all ballet pieces performed, especially in the reconstruction of classic ballets. Her expertise in costume design and construction is an invaluable asset to the school. During the ballet performances Lynn serves as the backstage manager.
Originally trained at the Munson Williams Proctor Arts Institute, Lynn later studied and performed with the Syracuse Ballet Theater under the direction of Anthony and Sirpa Salatino. She continued her education at SUNY Purchase, where she studied ballet under Jacques D’Amboise, Royes Fernandez, Rosanna Seravelli, and Bettijane Sills, and modern dance under Kazuko Hirabayashi, Carol Fried, Mel Wong, and Ginga Carmany.
Lynn was co-director of the Utica Dance Works from 1984 to 1989, Instructor of Ballet at the Jewish Community Center, summers 1978 and 1979, Jane Russell McDermid School of Dance 1982 to 1989, and the the Munson Williams Proctor Arts Institute School of Dance, 1983 to present.
